Online sales up to date – Withered Hand vinyl etc – Album Club next !

Spent all this morning making sure online sales are up to date. Everything over the last few days will be posted out on Monday. If anybody in the UK is expecting something and doesn’t receive it next week please let me know. A few people in the US bought directly through PayPal as the shop basket was not letting them check out but that should be fixed now and orders have gone through since so do let me know if you are outside the UK and have a problem. All the mail order Withered Hand vinyl was sent out a while ago but as people don’t always make themselves known when they buy the LP in the shop I’m simply not sure if all the reserved copies have been collected.

Things have picked up again in terms of sales from our website shop mainly from customers who have been in over the summer buying more or recommending it to their friends. I will do my best to now update it and keep it up to date but to be honest for a while it simply couldn’t be a priority and became quite disheartening as many visitors to the shop admitted to me that they always read my blog but simply used it to check out bands to listen to without feeling the need to buy anything. Most at least did buy something while they were in the shop. A few customers like the order below from the States do buy a lot of CDs in the shop and then come back for more online.

Zoey Van Goey – The Cage Was Unlocked All Along CD
Phantom Band – Checkmate Savage CD
Errors – Come Down With Me CD
The Laynes – It’s For You CD
Money Can’t Buy Music – The Universe For Beginners CD
Ardentjohn – On The Wire CD
RBRBR – The Bobby Masicks E.P. CD
Woodenbox With A Fistful Of Fivers – Home And The Wildhunt CD
Endor – Endor CD
Inspector Tapehead – Duress Code CD
Tango In The Attic – Bank Place Locomotive Society CD
The Son(s) – The Son(s) + limited card CD
The Savings And Loan – Today I Need Light CD
Kid Canaveral – Shouting At Wildlife CD

What always amazes me is when customers from Finland or a small town in the US come up to the counter with a There will Be Fireworks CD or Savings and Loan CD knowing exactly what it is as they read my blog. A surprising number of times these people will have connections with or be in the music industry in their own country so it does the bands no harm at all.

  1. The thing is, people should not be pressured to come into your shop and buy something.
There is a reason people buy online, but might by chance buy something if they happen to pass the shop.
Leaving countless entries on your blog is not going to win you custom, or in fact promote your shop in a good way, its going to scare people off and force them to buy on Amazon, in HMV or in other independant music shops around Scotland.
